PRESIDENTS LETTER
PRESIDENT'S STATE OF THE ASSOCIATION LETTER
January 31, 2019
To: Canyon Lake Village Civic Association Members/Associate Members Greetings from your
Board of Directors:
l, Vicky Carley, have been elected to be your president for 2019. I'm looking forward to working with the wonderful people in this community who serve as board members, directors and volunteers. We would like to encourage everyone to reach out to your neighbors and get them involved in our neighborhood. We welcome the opportunity to get to know all our neighbors, opening the door to new and fresh ideas to keep The Village a strong draw to the real estate market and a fun place to live or vacation.
In 2018, the pool was re-surfaced and it looks beautiful. The upkeep of the pool takes a lot of effort by volunteers. The pool committee has six teams consisting of two people each. Each team works daily for a week at a time overseeing cleaning and maintenance. We thank everyone involved in this effort since these volunteers are essential in preserving the
pool we all enjoy each summer.
The yearly dues are S24.00 per land owner. If you have multiple lots in the same name, you only pay $24. This is such an insignificant amount for maintaining the clubhouse, pool land grounds. Our insurance coverage alone is almost $5,000 a year. The pool fee is $125 per family per season...usually mid-May through September. We take great pride in the beauty and condition of our pool, and it has no rivals in the area. Many of you have donated above these minimal fees and we extend a very big THANK YOU! The additional donations and pool fees have supported the very special amenities we
enjoy. The clubhouse has a large upstairs room with an amazing view of the lake, a full kitchen and restrooms. The game room downstairs consists of a pool table, air hockey, a vintage shuffleboard table, ping pong, foosball and a small kitchen.
The clubhouse and game room are available for rental if you want to have a family gathering, business meeting, wedding/baby shower, etc.
Don't hesitate to contact us if you would like a tour. In addition, you are welcome to join the monthly evening bunco group, daily yoga on weekday mornings and water aerobics during the pool season.
Although the clubhouse ls in good shape for its age, some repairs are needed. With the re-surfacing of the pool last year at a cost of S18,000, our savings account has been substantially depleted. However, we hope to address some of these repairs in 2019.
In the spring, we have a work weekend in order to make needed repairs to the clubhouse and grounds. This is a great time to get to know your neighbors and we would appreciate any help you are willing to volunteer. The materials will be provided along with lunch. Please watch the website for the posted date and come out to join us! We need you!
You do not have to be on the Board to serve on a committee. Visit our website at www.canvonlakevillage.org for additional information on The Village, contact information and committees available for volunteering.
Sincerely,
Vicky Carley
